Pictures of
Mijas

One of the jewels of the Costa del Sol is the
beautiful little village of Mijas, which nestles in the hillas
above Fuengirola, and is a
superb choice for either holiday or full time
living.
Mijas still has much of its charm with its
little whitewashed houses perched on the hillside. The village
has also managed to retain some of its quaint traditions, one
of the most unusual being the donkey-taxis which line the
central plaza.
In contrast Mijas Costa is a smart resort of
sun worshippers attracted by 12km of excellent
beaches.
Hidden away in a corner of the village,
overlooking the wonderful valley leading to the coast, is the
hermitage of the ‘Virgen de la Peña’. Built into a rocky
outcrop by Mercedarian monks in
1520.
